The Toy Devils ladies and I spent this past weekend in Murfreesboro, TN finishing up the recording process of our EP. R. Resnick was the engineer for the two songs we laid down, and they have turned out quite good. We've added piano tracks and backing vocal lines to tracks that previously did not have them. Very fun. After the recording was done, around midnight on saturday, we puttered over to R.'s apartment and proceeded to get smashed on expensive, illegal absinthe. I drank the most, and lost it a little. They did get some good pictures of me laughing at the sky, beer in one hand, big-ass kitana sword in the other, though. Lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots of cynicism, and not a green fairy in sight. Rock.
In other news:
-I'm still loving the current state of political affairs. Bush has told the nation that we are "addicted to oil." In other words, the dealer has just told the junkie he's got a problem. Thanks for the update, Jr. I'll keep my addiction in mind the next time Lee Raymond has me bent over the pump. Iran is another current favorite of mine. I am absolutely delighted to see those white house spin doctors trying to keep everyone under wraps. All it's going to take is for one person to say what everyone has been thinking: "Oh shit! Iran has nukes! And has publicly stated their intentions to sell them to hostile nations! We attacked the wrong fucking country!" and this nice little house of cards is going to really start slipping. I just can't wait.
-I'm still feeling completely adrift. I have no idea what I want to do, where I want to do it, or who I want to do it with. Dead-end retail employment, and probation keeping me in GA for at least six more months are two things that certainly aren't helping the situation. I have plenty of reasons to stay, and equally as many reasons to leave. I'd like to find a good luthier school, but apparently those do not exist in the south.
-My head is filled with a horrendous cacophony of Panic at the disco, cash register dings, and unnecesary fights with friends. It hurts.
